WHOO HOO! 4th revival of my blog. SC camp's been great fun. though my posst is like 2 days lag but still, i'm gonna post about it. well well, on with the first day of events! =D

3rd November:

I was soooo excited about camp i couldn't sleep the night before! I arrived at school pretty much like 1 hour early, only to see that some were even more enthusiastic than I was and actually arrived 2 hours earlier! wow, amazing. =D anyway, i went to the canteen and participated in the orientation discussion. heh, it's pretty cool. next year's theme is DHS(something). haha, i'm not telling in case some future juniors know of this blog (there shouldn't be any but still) xD also, i'm designing the cover logo! better get it done soon =D Alright, next, i placed my huge bag in LT2. crazed man, 3 extra sets of clothing, courtesy to my mother.

we were sorted into groups! haha, i can't exactly remember everyone who's in my group, but i won't forget the year ones in my group 2! something in me just keeps yelling at me to treasure these new year ones. well, the new fabulous year ones i met on the 3rd was Venus, Si Qi, Xin Yi and Peter! Gosh, they are really cute =D just can't forget those awkward faces that i witnessed when i tried hyping them up. i must've looked like a big baffoon. anyway, there were a few games that our group played. we had one where we sat in a circle and called out each others name one by one, with an adjective at the front. i gave a hard to pronounce word for the second round. hehe. maniacal. haha. quite a number have trouble pronouncing the word. we had a game of splat too. really fun. hilarious too. there was a massive one later. blow wind blow was another. haha, damn funny, tong wei and sara kept being the last one to get to a seat, resulting in them being the "wind" xD after all the games, we had lunch, then we were all separated into our levels. I don't know what the year ones had but the year twos sure had tons to learn. we learned a lot about planning and speed problem-solving skills. now i feel that the year ones were REALLY fortunate. (shan't say why) next, our last task was to make a few games within the time limit of an hour. that was kinda crazed. my group had a new year two SC in it. she's Sophin. I keep having a tendency to call her Sophina instead of Sophin xP we had a few weird ideas at first. finally we decided on the pail with water endurance game! with a twist xD i'm pretty sure everyone knows what i'm talking about. it's none other then the horse-horse-tiger-tiger formation! haha, the horse step style plus the tiger paw! hahahaha, i wonder who can actually forget that. fabian was fei-ma and i became ma-hu xD damn funny. EPIC-NESS!!! i've been addicted to the word 'epic' recently. anyway, we went for our bathing session, the guys had only one cubicle cos the one in the girls' toilet at the container toilets was blocked up by the cleaning equipment. kiat shing and i pulled the bench from the girls' toilet to the guys' toilet for the convenience of the guys. kiat shing helped us to arrange another toilet for us to use at the gym. in total, there are now 3 cubicles! phew, much better.

finally, there was a movie! a beautiful mind. an extremely enlightening movie. i learnt a lot from it. it was freezing in the LT but it was okay =D the movie took away most of the chill and i had my trusty brown jacket =D the girl diagonally behind me (Yih Xi) had gastric pain but she still remained to watch the movie. i applaud her determination. sounds a little exaggerated but she really did endure the pain till the movie ended. there was another girl two seats to the left of her who plainly refused to let me know her name. it was kinda weird when she suddenly called out my name, including my surname at that. O.o kinda amazed and amused at the same time. interesting person. it's been a couple of months since i met someone interesting =D to those who find that i only ever find girls interesting, you're kinda right. i'm a guy and i know how a guy thinks, that makes practically a large scale of guys boring. oh well, on to the movie details. the protagonist of the story is john nash, a mathematics child prodigy. he wants to write his own original idea for his paper and have been taking substantially longer than most of his mates. in the end, he got inspiration from a blonde that slapped him for being too direct in his desire for intercourse (yeah, i know this nash guy is kinda crude, but that's the fact). i think i shouldn't give movie spoilers xD if you want to know what it is about, go watch it yourself =D after the movie, it was lights out D= I didn't sleep. was super excited about the next day's conference. so i listened to music until 6am, noticing my amazing phone battery life still staying at 70%, i decided to save it for later and went to my bag and did a simple reflection.

4th November:

packed up my sleeping bag and washed up. time to say farewell to my beloved group 2. we had breakfast with MILO. gosh, i wonder why people like milo so much when it tastes so bitter! anyway, i saw liyee in the canteen, it's been a while since i last saw her. she looks more and more sullen each time i see her nowadays. oh well, forget the past, live the present. we boarded the bus to the polytechnic and it was awesome man. the auditorium was huge! halogen. the most active non-metal element! haha, fits the occassion quite well. the music in there rocked. wasn't what i expected of a conference but it sure was good. oh yea, we were given sandwiches before the trip and we're still in our groups! there were two emcees, the lady was from peru. kinda cool. the way the emcees work were a little -- i don't know how to describe this but it's just a little awkward. it's clear that everything was rehearsed well. but still something was a little wrong about the way they speak. i just can't identify it now. alright. ms winnie chia came to hype us up a little first. she was kinda good, working under mr martin tan (man, this guy rocks). she made a brief welcoming speech and gave us some encouraging words and left us to be addressed by the mister of defence. i shall not comment on his speech lest i get sued for political insults or whatever. same goes for the SEC. i remember a pupil doubting his ability as a leader. i strongly agree with whatever that guy said. i shall not mention it here for his and my safety. anyway, mr martin's tan speech was really awe-inspiring. "money is definitely important, without it you can't do much. but what you do with it is what really matters." this line definitely opened up my mind a lot. though for my case, it really isn't anything to do with money. i asked him what was his life's greatest achievement. his greatest achievement was to have married his wife and being blessed with two children. why did i ask him this question? pretty simple. to really see if what he says really mean that much to him. money wasn't much of an issue to him and he proved it through my question. simplistic, but it holds plenty of meaning to me. next, skipping the SEC, we have the creator of counter-strike! mr wilks! he was rather humourous. very, in fact. i laughed a lot during his speech. anyway, most of the stuf he mentioned in his speech was pretty much what i learned during the kuala lipis trip. well, during the SEC speech, i wasn't paying much attention when he went into detail cos he was mainly describing the things he mentioned over and over again. so i took out my handy dandy drawing paper and started doodling. i started a conversation with si qi soon after and there was quite some hilarious comments xD shing chun kept accusing me of flirting. naw, i wasn't i'm plainly just bonding with juniors in an unappropriate time xD anyway, i suddenly got an idea in my head. haha, oh ya, before we left for the conference, kiat shing took attendence of some people. and then the mysterious girl's name was called out! haha, her name was beverly. i smiled at her and slowly pronounced her name smugly xD like, "hi, be~ver~ly" xDDD her reaction was damn funny. she was like: "shit." then she glared at me. I smirked at her and walked off. haha, told her that i would know her name! back to conference. my inspiration came from john nash. john nash connected the stars in the sky to form a shape. so instead of stars to join, i desided that i'll go with transforming the names of my juniors into shapes! well, i did beverly's one first. i drew a monkey out of her name. hers was kinda like the easiest to do since the inspiration at the time was so strong that i thought of it almost immediately! shing chun go accuse me and say that i like her =.= wow, fast conclusions man. pro sia. i don't deny that she is interesting but still, i don't like her in the BGR sense. i feel the same for all my juniors (with a certain exception). wow man, it was long before nick has his turn. nick appeared just so suddenly!

nick deserves a paragraph on his own. he taught me many things. so much that i think at this rate, my mind's maturity is gonna peak off at 40 soon. "obstacles = opportunities" was the first thing that he taught all of us. his lack of limbs were his obstacles, but he pesevered. he told his parents that he wanted to be a speaker. and so he succeeded. he treats "limbs" as "limits". he lives a life without "limits". "attitude is altitude" was what i learnt next. i may have everything. say money for instance. if i use it without a good cause, i won't go far. nick tells me not to have fear in things. for fear represents "false evidence appearing real". fears are just a bunch of lies meant to deter one. it is nothing compared to whatever i can achieve without those lies. nick teaches me yet another thing. "you will never know what you can achieve until you try. if you fail, try again." everything nick says make perfect sense. do anyone feel that it is arguable? is it even morally wrong? nick is a perfect example of what life should be. live life to the fullest. don't give up in any aspect of life. "knowledge is useless unless you apply it. why learn more when you don't use them in the first place?" i really agree with this. it's like academics. why learn geography when i don't use it in my life. why learn chemistry when i don't need it in my ambition? nick makes a good point in this. i take my hat off to him. talking about hats, mr yeo gave us a talk on hats. however, in this case, i have something to argue about. anyone can topple your hat off with a push. what really matters is not wearing a single certain hat or not, but whether you share this hat with others. going back to nick. i seriously wanted to purchase his disc on his life. i wanted to give him a hug. to let him know that he gave me a new lease for life. a new hope. a new example. a new goal to head for. he also gave me a further idea. to share hope with everyone. so the drawing i did for beverly, i decided to do for everyone else as a welcome gift for everyone. in just nick's speech alone, i got so touched that i shed 4 drops of tears. it's the largest amount i've shed for the whole year. and that says a lot about how i felt about nick's speech.

we had some night games after that. it was fun. i couldn't exactly concentrate on the game cos i was still busy seeking inspiration for my drawings. oh well, after the games, it was lights out again. there was a crisis this time though. the gym was locked and we had to sleep in the classrooms. it was cold at night while i drew. in the end, i decided that sleeping some will do me some good for my brain juices to keep running. i drew one for yu rong just before she left for choir when i woke up at 3am. lucky me that i was able to pass it to her when i saw her at the corridor. street chase '08 is next!

5th November:

the last day of the camp. it was the most fun filled one yet. we were told of our departments the previous night and i met a few new juniors! florence, rebecca and janell. i knew yu rong from orientation already =D haha, for street chase, rebecca and janell were in my group. man shaun was like john nash. he broke the first code in like wth, 10s! "A retired teletubby" was the clue. he gave us the answer "expo" damn quickly! he solved many of the other clues too! shaun, you're the next john nash dude! anyway, in the morning during breakfast, i fell quite ill. i had caught a serious chill last night and i emptied a tissue pack within 6 minutes D= lucky shaun gave me a pill. becam. that's the name of a rather common flu medicine. it's exactly the same kind that my family doctor gives me =D so i took it and swallowed it down promptly. near immediate results! my nose stopped killing me for a while. anyway, at some point in the purple line, the medicine was starting to affect me. the drowsiness bit of the medicine. i started getting very dizzy and i slept later when we were back on the green line. i asked hui han about my sleeping posture. thank god she said it was okay. hopefully it's the truth though. there was once i accidentally drooled! but that was pretty much long ago. anyway, the second last clue was brilliantly solved by shaun again! it was "u+at" which he deciphered it to be "ni (your) jia (home) zai (at)" and so we went back to DHS! well, it turned out that it wasn't the right destination xD haha, before that, at kallang leisure, we even ate ice cream in the midst of the race! we played the merry-go-round too! i wanted to go bowling since benjamin left and there was exactly 7 players which was perfect on the score board! haha. turns out that we really should have done so as we reached the last destination one whole hour early xD heh, and my group was pretty surprised at what coke can do! see, coca cola is just one of the many wonders of life. two cans of it and you see the results! the speed at which i can move at, the new-found alertness and even higher enthusiasm! it's like a drug! just that it is slightly healthier than eating pills of ketamin and ecstacy. we had a last debrief from ms tiong, mr yeo and ms yeo. finally we were dismissed! haha, oh train ride back, it was kinda hilarious. jing pei and ao kun damn funny sia. mimicking them in the way they speak somehow made chinese seem more interesting and lively! i got some contacts too from the group of juniors who boarded the train along with us. all right, i reached home spent and slept for 12 hours straight! haha, thanks for reading peeps! i know this is long. haha, really applaud your patience for reading =D

overall, SC camp was great and i have really learnt a lot. i would also like to thank my juniors for making it so enjoyable =D it really warms me up to hear that they realy feel welcomed and happy to have joined SC. good job EXCO! lastly...

THREE CHEERS TO EVERYONE!
